Kids Matter

Good mental health in childhood lays the foundations for the future, and it is never too early for families to start supporting the mental health of children. KidsMatter is an Australian mental health and wellbeing initiative set in primary schools and early childhood education and care services. It's unique because it brings together all the most important people in a child’s life - especially families!

Starting in care can be nerve racking. Starting Blocks provides information to families about the first days and the types of things you can expect to see at our service.

Vaccination is the best way to protect your child from serious disease. The NSW Government Health, provides a range of information and links around immunisation.

Galambila Aboriginal Health Services provide a culturally appropriate service to our local Aboriginal community. They have a range of clinics and services aiming to close the gap and keep our mob healthy and living longer.

Red Nose provides information and guidance around optimum infant care practices for safe sleeping, reducing the risk of sudden unexpected death in infancy. Red Nose educates families around sleep safety, tummy time, wrapping and Q & A from health professionals.

Kids and Traffic

Kids and Traffic is the NSW Early Childhood Road Safety Education Program. It forms part of the statewide road safety education program of Transport for NSW’s Centre for Road Safety. When families are out and about, there are many ways to help keep young children safe in and around traffic. Families can share the Kids and Traffic Key Road Safety Messages with children to help them learn about how to keep safe without making them responsible for their own safety.

The Australia Breastfeeding Association (ABA) provided mum-2-mum support on breastfeeding. Their 1800 mum-2mum hotline provides 24hr support (1800 686 268). The ABA have local support groups you can connect with for hints and tips on feeding your baby.

The Family Referral Service (FRS) provides information and links vulnerable children, young people and their families to a range of support services in their local areas. Pathfinders NSW can also provides this direct link and support to the service.

Logging into your MYGOV account allows you to access important information required when starting in child care. Your MYGOV portal gives you access to approve and review your child care usage, access your child's immunisation records and update important information.

The Australian Government offers a Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to families that helps with the cost of child care fees. This subsidy is paid to the child care provider reducing your out of pocket expense. There are eligibility requirements based on your families circumstances.

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue's primary focus is on the needs of people affected by depression, anxiety and suicide. Lifeline Crisis Support and Suicide prevention hotline 13 11 14 is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.
